I have highlights and my hair is relaxed, I want to go natural without cutting all my hair off, my hairdresser says it's almost impossible to go natural without cutting it off but I can not cut my hair off. Any advice...anyone...Please

I went natural about 2 years ago but I did not cut my hair off. I wouldn't have done if I had to. For the first month (after my last perm) I cut my hair to my shoulder to get used to the idea of having less hair and for manageability. When new growth started showing I wore my hair in ponytails. After that (about a month and a half later) I started getting french braids with my own hair because with them you couldn't tell I had a lot of new growth. I had to do that because my permed hair was weak, of course, and started breaking slightly so I didn't want that to get out of hand. I wore french braids for about a month and a half. In about 3 months, my hair was at a manageable and cute length (I didn't want it to be too short because it's ugly when it gets to a certain length b/c styles are limited). I cut my hair spontaneously one night after I shampooed it. I cut it in the back first b/c there would have been no way for me to correct it - I had to go through with it. I've felt FREE ever since.
i went from shoulder length permed hair to 1/4 inch short natural hair and i loved it, it is a bit of a shock. but you get over it and it is easier to care for than transitioning with relaxed hair to me. Just my two cents
Me and you, your cousin and your momma too rollin on da strip on bow's

I got my perm in highschool so I do know how to do my natural hair but I had to learn patience to grow this out. I think after summer I am going to cut off the rest of the perm if its not gone by then i have about 3 inches of new growth and by then i whould have about 4to 6 inches since hair grows 1/2 inch a month. Anyways...keep using the sites and look at the links they help a lot.
