My Herr... Pls Help

I just would like anyone's personal experience and would be especially overjoyed by a professional's opinion. My hair is thinning in front and on the sides from chemical relaxing. I am not interested in "going natural", right now. I have switched between 2 different perms since starting to relax my hair again 18 mos ago. I was once referred by a friend to use kiddy perm, and so my current perm is Just For ME. I like the results, but only when certain people do it. I have not found a proffesional who thinks this perm will work on my hair, but when my friend did it for me once it came out well. The two times a proffessional did it, it was not as straight. I am considering switching perms and know that a strong perm will not help the state my head is now in. I have been trying to do research on line and cannot afford the very expensive products to style or straiten my hair that might do it very well. I was thinking maybe Bone Straight No Lye- Relaxer as it was top listed, but I believe that rating is 5 years old and I could not find anything newer. I also cannot afford in NYC to go to the type of salon that would take personal care of my hair and go one step short of anaylizing my DNA to come up with the perfect regimen for my hair. I am do for a touch up, please help or direct me to a resource where I can get informed. Oh yeah the reason I want to switch from just for me is to go to a salon and get my hair permed, with a perm I know is ok for my hair. As previously stated the salons I am frequenting just can't do it with Just for Me, and my friend is not conveniently available to do my hair. And I never have and right now still don't have any desire to perm my hair myself. I need a touch up, please help. I am African American and convinced, nobody has hair like me.
