QuoteReplyTopic: studying in the UK-suggestions Posted: December 08 2004 at 6:29pm
I will be going to the Uk for the first time to study for six months, and I am not sure what to do with my hair. I had braids previously and I had alot of breakage but that was before all the braid care tips I learned from the hair boards. Should I risk braiding again? or should I just perm my hair and go. To all the UK ladies, I'll be staying in East London do you know if there are alot of hair braiders and black salons there? Are there dominican salons in the UK? Does London have hard water? My hair is short and my styling options are slim....suggestions please

Miss Ja, I suggest that you continue to put your hair in braids, but make sure that the braider does not braid your hair too tightly. Also you should use on your roots, surge 14, wild growth oil castor and aloe vera gel or juice, or make up a mixture of all four, also, it would be good to rinse your hair or make your own braid spray, distilled water, aloe vera gel or juice, 10 drops of rosemary essential oil, olive oil, glycerine, rosewater, jojoba oil, and spray or rinse your hair regular, to keep your braids moisturised. When you wash your hair, put your hair in a stocking and wash and condition your hair and your braids will stop from becoming fuzzy. The water in London is hard, but you can buy bicarbonate of soda from any chemist and add a small amount, about 10p (dime size) whenever you are going to rinse your hair, that will help to keep your hair soft. I hope that helps, any more questions, please e-mail me at valeriesmith15@hotmail.com
