My mom went out to Walgreens and found a product by Culture called a 7 day relaxer. After you wash your hair you run it through, from roots to tips and blow dry straight. Or you can use it to just keep your curls detangled. I tried it in my moms 3a/b hair and hated it. Her roots felt dry and it didn't straigten at all. Plus I wouldn't want to use it with a blow dryer to get my roots straight. However, It did help define her natural curls when her hair was wet. Overall, I wouldn't touch the stuff.

I have this too (I am a PJ).
It is just supposed to help keep the hair manageable. It is supposed to soften the curl pattern so that one may style the hair. It's not a bad product. I do moisturize my hair and the effects only lasts 7-days.

I guess everyone's hair is different. My mom has 3a/b hair and I didn't like what it did to her hair. But it may do ok for others.
