is there something of this type that checks vitamins and supplements against meds some of us take in daily life?

Not that I know of Alyssa, but it's a good idea.  I suppose you could "construct" one yourself by doing some research.  The www is a great place to start your search.

Hopefully that link will work since it has weird commas and things in it...
Click on 2 drugs from the list on the left (which also includes vitamins down at the bottom and some herbs), then click the arrows to put your selected drugs in the box on the right and click the button to check interactions.
