question shrinkies wand install & removal

Hello everyone,

I've noticed people talking about the docs install wand then also a removal wand.  The Docs wand seems to be flat but the removal wands seem to be curved at the tip on one side then dented in to accomodate the curve on the other side.

Is it necessary to have both wands?
That's the difference between me and the rest of the world! Hapiness isn't good enough for me! I demand euphoria!

You use the same wand for install and removal luz....maybe you saw two different brands of wands/irons? Maybey a docs wand and something else...maybe a flatiron or something?

The small one is used to install you have more controll . I haven't seen the other one but I think I am going to use a small flat iron to remove because you could melt more than one at a time I think that is closer to what the MB iron is it's long and flat. If you used the small one you could only remove one at a time

You need to put even & gentle pressure on the shrinkie to slide it off the hair. I would be concerned that if you try to remove more than one at a time you may be risking damage to your hair. You really have to be careful in the removal process of any method of extensions.  I think the MB is a flatiron (someone correct me if Im wrong) and it may be a slim flatiron? My conair flatiron is 3/4 inch wide.

Just to clarify here....I think alot of people do use the flatiron to remove shrinkies, I know Ive used mine. I think I get a better grip on the shrinkie with my flatiron to remove them.

I know Doc recommends that you use the wans for both application and removal. I agree with Sherrie--I think you'd want the control of the wand for removal, too. I wouldn't risk trying to do a few at a time, especially on your own head. :)

Now here's something interesting at $20. I've never seen a flat iron so narrow. Think this would work on shrinkies? I bet you can get this baby on a shrinkie perfect? Yes? No? This is a 1" iron...

Maybe it's better to have an iron that doesn't get very hot for shrinkie removal.... to be sure you don't melt the shrinkie into the hair.  Hmmm.....

i removed my shrinkies w/ doc's on high...no melting into the hair.  i used massage oil first (cuz amm didn't have her site up yet to get shrinkie remover) and then i clamped a shrinkie in the iron and gave a gentle tension on the extension hair...once that plug is out from the shrinkie, you can stop w/ the heat, roll it a couple times to help break the seal and cool it ...and then it will slide right off.
has someone been swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool again?
