I am so confused. I have done 3 different types of hair extensions... (on people)
1) PH with heat sealed
2) Braided weave with human hair weft from H&H
3) Eurolocs with PH
Plastik Haar is working pretty well for me, but one of my friends said
it looked and felt a little too fake for her... I thought it looked
great but it was kinda shiny compared to her hair...
I completely braided my mom's hair and sewed the hair to it. It looked
pretty good since i only did the bottom half of her head, but she didnt
like it after a while because the braids kept slipping out and I have
no idea how to seal the french braids at the end except rubber banding
them which i know itsn't correct.
AND the eurolocs. Everyone says that the eurolocs damage the hair and
can even snap the hair, but it hasnt happened with me. All in all, it
has turned out awsome.
I have tried pinch braids for a school project before and I absolutely
hated them. The hair kept getting tied up in the knots and i had to rip
the hair out. At least it was only on a wig...
I really dont like using human hair, and I TRY my best to avoid it.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is dome great? its kinda expensive
though...
I think I will look for the best synthetic hair and the best extensions method and keep experimenting!
Well, which method is the best is really going to depend on the
client's hair and the look they want to achieve. You won't find any
consensus here. Specifically regarding Eurlocs, although they work on
some people, others have had a lot of damage with them, especially
those with fine, thin hair. Metalgirl used to use them and has stopped
because they damaged one of her client's heads so badly.
As far as the synth hair goes, I think it's all very similar. I wear a
Dome/PH mix, and I think the quality is identical. PH, of course, has a
wider range of colors, longer lengths, and better price, so I would
recommend it above Dome.

alright. I think its absolutely awsome. the only problems i have found
is you cannot use irons on it, its not AS easy to use on colored
people's hair even tho it is possible, and i guess the shine factor
that kinda dulls out more in a day or 2. or maybe it was just that her
hair was extremely dry? it looked fine next to mine lol.
Yeah, it is shiny- not like fake shiny, but like very-healthy-hair
shiny, and if the client's hair isn't like that, there's an obvious
difference in textures. It's a pain in the ass, and that's when I just
use human!
About pinchbraids- to keep that from happening, it's really important
to keep all the hair -around- the braid clipped down really well so it
doesn't get caught up in the braid or the knot.
OMG YOUR SITE WAS WHAT GOT ME INTERESTED IN HAIR EXTENSIONS! I WAS
LOOKING UP COSMETOLOGY AT SAC CITY COLLEGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND I SAW
YOUR SITE AND GOT INTERESTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
