If you use extensions over and over for years can the constant strain on your scalp cause hair not to grow back? Also when I had the fushion method (I have only had extensions this one time) my hair is thinner where they were and small bald spots..how long does this take to grow back?
I have worn extensions consecutively for for almost 15 years, the only break I ever took for for about a 2 month period.
Even before getting any extensions my hair has always been crappy. I would say that 15 years of extensions (mainly weaves, shrink links) has done only marginal damage, if any to my hair. It's hard to tell, it's about the same as 15 years ago, pre extensions.
Since my hair will never be good on it's only, I'll settle for marginal damage.
Most likely your bald spots will grow back. I have seen people with traction alopecia from wearing weaves too tight (over several years) where their hair does not grow back.
