I'm VERY interested in these Shrinkie things. I HAD braids a year, almost two ago. Very heavy, very messy, very... smelly. LOL.
I had them done by a local woman who once owned a salon in the states and did weaves and things. She was very cool, anywhoo, here is a pic of the braids she did. I do not look like that anymore, and I shouldn't have been let out of the house THAT white. I look like a braided Mortita Adams! Anywhoo, I have fake hair I buy at the local Walmart, it's plastic but that is what is cheap and you can do your own braids. I've tried doing them on my own but only get frustrated that I can't get them snug enough to my scalp. And I want them REALLY snug. So I just cut the platium blonde hair into small strips and very tinily braid them into my hair, use a invisibale elastic to seal off the braid, and they suffice for mock HIGHLIGHTS! YAY, but a shrinkie would be so much easier to install I think. I could even do my own extentions... that would be neat! Could you get these at a local Beauty Shop?

Sounds like a good option for you.

By the way, I absolutely LOVE the braids. The contrast of really dark hair, really pale skin, and really long braids is stunning, imo. :)
