QuoteReplyTopic: Thinking thermo/HH install Posted: May 04 2005 at 2:43pm
OK. I have all my hair now. OK, I have MORE than all my hair now. I
have my appointment with Bettie this Saturday. Suddenly it occurs
to me: WOW this Hot Stuff Fusion (straight, NOT WaWa BodyWave) has been
performing pretty darn well on the sides of my head.!! . . and
WOW. . .look at the color combo of it (a 'zebra 27/613) next to
Bohyme's 27/613 (which really just looks like a 24 to me).
Add some of amm's #16 AD - and voila!
If Bettie can do heatseals with the thermofiber (which I'm almost
certain she can, since she can do them with human hair). . . I'm
thinking I might skip the PH for this round.
Here are the 3 bunches. L-to-R: 27/613 HSF, 27/613 HH, 16 AD:
That 27/613 human hair does just look like 24 you're right. That's obviously a mix though and not piano blend (side by side). That first hair looks amazing. I'd definitely go with that, that looks more like a piano blend xx

Yup, did a full PH last time and jacked around with the front/sides.
With summer coming hair will be even MORE mistreated. . .which has me
worried about PH.
But I am thinking of COMBINING these. They're all "straight", and they
all are OK with heat styling, and I've found the straight HSF, as
Sherrie has said, to become "more human-like" over time.

Absolutely. Use them all together - the synths in the back and the hh in the front sides so you can style it like you're used to. Great idea. That way, you can just do the semi-annual set styling on the synth as necessary and it should all perform similarly instead of having to deal with monofiber acting one way and thermo another.
BTW, where did you find the HSF in straight like that? I only found it in french refined texture at Bella Beauty Supply. It is really silky nice hair, but too POOOOFY!
And is it 18" ...or longer?
FinaFina - The synthetic hairs look better than the human hair in that photo. What is hotstuff fusion hair like compared to AD thermofibre in your oppinion?

The HSF is 18" long. The HH is only 12". So I'll use mostly the HSF in the
back, with most likely an HH layer on the top, to blend most seamlessly
with my hair. Even though I'm not crazy about the HH "27/613", it's a
dead-on match for my hair.
Shel: the AD is *softer* than the HH, and if you look at HSF it has
kind of a strange machine-made look to it. The AD *does not* have that
quality. It's absolutely flawless in comparison to HSF. It's just a bit
lighter (in weight). But it is silkier and feels ABSOLUTELY
WONDERFUL.

Nah. You're just mad at the hh because it does look like your own! That hh is beautiful hair. Putting a layer of it on the top is a good idea. Those thermos are gorgeous - that AD reminded me of some German girl's thick, silky, caramel colored ponytail when I first saw it! The whole thing is going to look fantastic.
Thanks FinaFina - Im going to go through all my stock and dig out the AD thermofibre and install that into my hair rather than the bohyme so i can try it again (however this time i wont use extensive heated irons on them)

Shel, I think you are the only person who has done a complete
Thermofiber install (i.e. AD). And perhaps the only person to have ever
fried thermofiber! Before you fried it, how did you like it ? ? Also what colors do you have?

Yes, I ordered the AD. It got to the point where I couldn't wait any longer for them to get their stock together, so I ordered one weft in 18" and the color ring just to see if the hair was any good. Amm wanted to get some, too, just to test it out. As luck would have it, it IS good! I made color xeroxes of the color ring which are pretty darn close to the real thing. I can make you a xerox of the colors you use (and anyone else who wants one) if you want.
Yeah, so far, AD looks like the Holy Grail. We'll know more once you've got it on your head, dunk it in the pool, wash/curl/etc.

(blushes) Yeah that was a test for a customer but even still i use straighteners on my own hair so i will still have to watch! On arrival the hair was impressive and looked much better than i expected. When wearing it i noticed that after a days chores it sat funny (kinda hard to explain) like the ends were sticking together almost?? I will try it again and update. I had colour 613B i think or something close to that.
is it just me or does hot stuff fusion look kinda fluffy? i dont mean in a bad way or anything its just the other ones kinda lay flatter a bit?? maybe im crazy!

Yeah, it looks fluffy cuz it's a huge amount of hair and I fluffed it up so that you could see the colors together. In reality it's not fluffy. Amm - If you overnited it to me it could be here tomorrow. I'm gonna PM you my FedEx and UPS numbers. . .
