Amm, you can get High Lift color from Sallys and this is what I used to color the Biss hair (which was natural black).  The hair color is made by Loreal Excellence and called High Color.

Fina, for that price I am interested in trying it also.  I have colored my Black Bliss hair before so I think I will just get the natural Indian hair from you and do it myself since I know what color to use (which matches mine to a T).  The natural comes on a weft, right?  When are you able to sell this stuff to us?  Oh, and how are the ends?  Do I need to order a much longer length?

Thanks for the info, Fina. I'll be curious to hear how it holds up. Again, it looks really nice! :)

Okay, a mild bodywave is fine. And a 1/8" tall weft is pretty tiny! I'm interested.

I didn't get around to further processing of the hair yesterday because I was jacking around with that useless Bohyme weft I have in light orange (what they called 27/613). Anyway the GREAT NEWS is. . .I have toned it to a GORGEOUS beige/blonde!!

Jenny/Mocha: Yes the weft if funky. . . it's very nice, neat, tiny. . .I don't know if it's a zig-zag cuz I'm not a weft expert. It's unlike anything I've ever seen; it reminds me of teeny-tiny rick-rack  (?). It is no larger than 1/8" from top to bottom.  Jenny I'll keep you posted on creating the 613. As I said, the stuff I put in my own hair yesterday is GORGEOUS.

Amm: I don't think 40 volume bleach is bad per se. My own hair is very very dark and I speak from experience: if you want those gorgeous pale blonde results you have to use high-volume bleach and heat. I was amazed that this stuff came up as quickly as it did, and I think it's because you can do things with it (i.e. put it in the oven) that you could never do with hair-on-your-head.

And yes, everything is available in a beauty supply store but the world of hair color is an entire other black hole of time.

I am limiting the number of colors to what the supplier has (those dark blondes and virgin) because I don't want to get into the unpredictable world of hair color. . .

Syren: The hair doesn't feel coarse. It's not baby-fine either. It has almost the *exact* feel of the straight Softwear I got at EP, and it looks almost exactly the same.

Zapevaj: It is like a mild body-wave. NOT French Refined.

I'm waiting to hear back from the supplier. If possible I would like to order 1 KG to start with: half of it in, say, a #15 (one of the dark blondes), and half of it virgin. I will get the 20-21" 'bodywave' (straight) and continue to jack with the colors. I'll send samples galore and we can see if we've found a treasure trove. . .

I'd be interested as well! Like Syren said, I'm curious about the texture though. My own hair is so fine. It look coarser in the weft pic than the others, but maybe that's just an illusion b/c of the resolution of the pic.)

I've never heard of putting hair in the oven to process with heat before. That's quite a trick

Good job, Fina! Is that a zigzag weft?

I'll be interested to hear how the 613 works out. I'm impressed that you were able to lift it that high. Did it start out dark brown, or had they already prebleached it a bit?

The texture looks gorgeous, too!

:)

that weft looks funky,

I'm not usually interested in human hair.  but at these prices maybe some #4 and #2 could be very good...

Does it look like it really is double drawn?  how are the ends? etc etc etc

$42 a bag for 18" virgin hair? I'm -completely- interested. Even if it's slightly more than that- hell, if it's under $100 I'm interested.

So the straight is not entirely straight? Would you say it's like a bodywave texture, or a French Refined texture?

I'm interested. How does the hair feel to you? Is it white-girl fine and smooth or is it on the coarser side? Not that I expect a perfect texture match, but some Indian hair is not a good blend for white girl hair like mine, although the colors blend great (#4 or med dk brn).

Good work, Fina.

when i mix up bleach i get a large spoon of bleach and mix it with peroxide til it goes a creamy texture, then i apply it :)  Bleach is quite simple really just check it every FIVE minutes on extension hair!

Very very cool. I would love to try some. I'll PM you.

I was SUPPOSED to do an install a few weeks back with some of the
hair SAS gave me. It was at the colorist for almost a month and it
came back completely *ucked up. Man, I should post photos of it.

This was a beautiful dark brown wavy weft that was supposed to
come back three shades of blonde. SAS did not recommend the 40
vol. so I passed that along and the colorist said she wouldn't use it. It
came back and the weft bled into the hair and it has an orange cast
to it. The "darker blonde" has red tones and is brassy as hell. I will
NOT give her another one of SAS's beautiful wefts to ruin again.

So, how exactly is this dark brown/black hair supposed to be lifted at
home? I want to do it myself but I have zero experience in coloring.

Fina (or anyone please jump in), can the supplies to color like this be
bought at Sally's? What do I need exactly?

OK, well then I'll continue the experimentation. So far the results for color have been really great; and the really cool thing is I know *exactly* what has been done to the hair. I don't see why it wouldn't hold up. I'll send a photo of the double-drawn batch I bleach today and I'll send you some samples. Just PM me with your info. The stuff I have in my hair is gorgeous. I just went for a run but after I do my hair I'll post photos.

Sherrie what have you done to bleach virgin hair ? ? I know you wear a 613.  I am a natural, like *2*, so I bleached this hair using the same thing my hairdresser uses on mine.   However I was able to put the hair in the oven (YES I did that. . . at less than 200 degrees) which helped it come up really quickly. . .
