I just got back from the Prostyles class in San Francisco, and I loved it!  This method will take a little practice to master, though.

I thought the Prohair felt super silky.

I'm still looking for guinea pigs, so if anyone's interested, let me know!

The Prostyles is a heat sealed, 3 strand braid method to install loose synthetic.

Hey Rae, let me know when you're in the 'hood'!

Elvira,

I'm near Sacramento, California (northern CA)

I don't know if you can use human hair with the Prostyles method.

Fina has the Dome method, which is much like the Prostyles method, and she said her stylist can install human hair with the Dome method.

You can use human hair to pinch braid, though.

Hi Metalgirl! Where do you think I could see a demo or find a thread on that method (the Prostyles one) And, is it just for synthetic hair? I just wanted to see a new method that everyone's raving about!! Much thanks!!

I've been using Prostyles for over two years..... Fabulous method, as no damage to real hair..... and it can only be  SYNTHETIC, as that is the trick...The gun melts the synthetic hair..... It is complicated, and I'm sure I could do it for myself.  However, they are exceedingly protective, and train licensed stylists only.    I have been sewing in wefts myself for over 5 years.....

By the way, you have to retrain me every morning.... Soooo, does plastikhaar sell preglued hair.... synthetic, that is???  Their site is complicated, or is me and my impatience?  Thanks Ladies and Gentlemen...

You can find some info here: http://www.quinnster.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/  under Loose, under heat-sealed extensions.

Apparently, you can do this with human hair, too, although it is rarely done. You just incorporate bits of synthetic hair up top for the heat-sealing, but leave the human hair hanging loose from it. (I imagine this is somewhat difficult.)

PlastikHaar doesn't sell pretipped or preglued extensions yet, although I know the owner (Sara) is looking into it.

:)
