QuoteReplyTopic: What summer styles will u try? Posted: May 23 2005 at 12:35am
I'm not sure what I want to do with my hair over the summer and I need some ideas. I don't want alot of manipulation. I will be working and taking classes through the summer so lo-maintenance is great. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the tips! What kind of pony tail does Halle have? Is it a fake one? If so, I don't really like the fake ponies. I do like the idea of twists, but I don't know how to do them and how to keep them moisturized. I live near the beach on Lake Michigan. It does get hot and very humid in the summer.
John Frieda ripple effect wave maker is a spray, that I used alot last summer on my hair, it gives it cute waves/curls, I just wash or condition wash then apply a leave in then spray it in my hair and let it air dry. Its good b/c it keeps me away from the heat.

Hmm this sounds really interesting. Does this work on relaxed hair as well? I heard Sebastian's WET does this as well. I'm not sure though.

Yes, It works well on relaxed hair. It was made for black hair, it was part of john frieda's relax line. I am pretty sure its discontinued, but i still see his products at the BSS.
Have you guys heard of Curly Pudding? I'm not sure who it's buy but it is suppose to do the same thing as Ripple Effect but it's more expensive. I want to try something like that too! Is it drying to your hair at all? What about new growth?? ANd how long does it last?
Its called Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding, I'm pretty sure. Mrs Jessie's is the name of the brand. I am not positive but I think its for natural/curly hair. I don't know for sure tho, if you get it and try it on relaxed hair let us know how it works out.

MISS JESSIE'S CURLY PUDDING™ Turns Kinks To Curls... A splendid emulsion for your Curls, Kinks & Waves without the "CRUNCH". This curl creme was specifically formulated to stretch out and elongate your curls for soft, maximum curl definition. Amazing for Natural Curls, Kinks & Waves, Fingerstyling,TWA's, Silkeners™, Coiling, Transitioners, Kinky Weaves, and more. Excellent for CURL SHRINKAGE! Not recommended for straight hair.
I read into the Curly Pudding a bit more and it seems like 3a/b have the better luck with it and 4's don't have the best results. And after visiting the website, it seems as though you have to use and awful lot to get the curly look going. THat's alot of build-up. I think I'll stick to bantu knots!!
