Hiya,

I got a new haircut recently that looks fab. Haven't got any pics yet, but it looks fab and I *May* go shorter, if I gain some short hair confidence!

My hair is ash blonde and its in excellent condition, despite being coloured and not trimmed for 5 months plus! I had hair that brushed my breasts, but it was looking a bit raggy, despite being quite thick... (straighteners were violating it, but it looked fab when it was straight, just not when it was naturally dry)

I wanted a shoulder length cut, but have got a collar length cut, which is a bit shorter than I was expecting! If I had another 3-4 inches chopped, I'd have a chin length bob...

I'm wondering whether I should get this trimmed, cos it looks sexy as it is, or get the bob I've been too scared to get. 3 inches is not a lot to loose now is it (I had over 6 inches chopped off yesterday to make it collar length) So whaddya think guys?

I'd love to have the confidence to chops those odd few inches off, shave the bottom of the nape and have a bob like lovebobs wife had... But I'm not sure because I've never had the clippers used on me before! Help!

I think you should go for it.

from my own experience, the hardest part was cutting my hair from mid back length to just about the same length your describing back in June 2002.

Then I let it grow from then to Spring 2003. By that time it had grown back to just above the bottom of the breast bone length. I finally got up enough courage and got it cut to two inches under my ears in a bob. Which I loved by each time i went back for a trim I had the stylist take it up more. Which was great, because i went back every 4-6 weeks and got it retirimmed. By December of 2003 I finally had enough courage to ask the stylist to cut it to directly under the ear lobes and shave the nape. And after the experience I wished i would had gotten it cut that short much sooner. Dont worry about the clippers, you'll enjoy the feeling. I opted for a no guard  had my nape shaved clean all beneath my ear lobes, then let my nape hair grow in with the bob. Nape hair grows fast and so does the bobbed hair over it. Within two weeks I had a nice amount of stubble  and then inbetween trims I let the stubble come in and used a lady bic to give it a shape.

So I say go for it. Currently I have my hair just touching the shouders, and it's getting on my nerves beyond belief. But i promised myself i'd let it grow just to see how long i can get it to grow before cutting it again. But everytime I see a cute bob or se pics of myself from two years ago i want to get it recut again.

Goodluck with your decision

I think you should enjoy your new look for awhile.  Time will tell if you really want it shorter.  You can always cut more but if you cut is shorter and you are not really ready you can't make is grow back... well I guess you can but only at the rate of about 1/2 per month....lol

Newhair, I aggee with Hal. Get used to it and after a little bit if you're ready, take it a bit shorter. If you go a little shorter and like it wait a little bit again. A that point if your ready, go as short as you want. Get that clippered nape! It'll be mid summer, a great time to give it a go. Good luck!
short is good, buzzed is better, bald is best!!!

I think so, or perhaps just some very inconsistent posts across the boards.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
