hey foxy -

In what part of N. Carolina are you? Also, do you have an idea of what method you'd like?

hmmm. i'm from east TN and travel to atlanta to get pinchbraids. there are tons of fantastic DIYers here who do everything from fusion to pinchbraids to shrinkies to extendtubes. Have a look at the resources for beginners topics at the top of the forum...

also, i think peoples opinions about a "best method" varies a lot...you can search for "fusion" or "great lengths" or "pinchbraids" whatever method it is you are interested in using the upper right search key.

basically, i think pinchbraids works for me because they 1. don't slip 2. i love my stylist 3. it's relatively cheap all in all and 4. the only thing holding them in is a thread. easy to snip. i think a lot of the issues with fusion are in the removal. i found heather in atlanta by the hairpolice site - stylist search page at www.hairpolice.com

also, the women here are really awesome and honest and helpful; giving more specific information about the length of your hair now (with pics even, or pics showing something similar to your hair), what length you want, and other lifestyle things like how often do you wash, your hair texture, how permanent you want the extensions to be...etc.

good luck,

cheryl

In my opinion no extion methon is "good" for your hair, some are just much less damaging in the long run then others.  same goes with haircoloring.
