How easy is it do put in Shrinkies at home?  And most importantly can I burn my hair with the wand?  My girlfriends have said they would help but none of us are hairdressers.   I would be grateful for any tips or help you can give and tell me where I can get the stuff. These sewn in extentions look fine but I want to be able to wear my hair up again so bad.....

It's not that hard.  I think in terms of ease for me it's sewing in wefts (not necessarily putting in the tracks), rings/tubes, shrinkies, pinchbraids.

notice fusion isnt even on my list.

yes you can burn yourself.  But with the help of a girlfriend you'll be fine.  If my husband can do the wand in the back for me, you'll be fine with a girlfriend who will probably be less irritated half way through.  It will take a long time your first go.  start on friday night or early saturday morning so you are sure you are back in business by ondya morning for work (if you have a m-f 9-5 that is).  Once you get the hang of it an install won't take that long but first time out better safe than sorry.

I've tried several types of shrinkies and like amm's the best.  shrinkies.net . she even has wands now.  I'd get two packs of the long shrinkies.  that gives you plenty to screw up and throw away. a nd the long ones are easier to start with.  then once you get the hang of it you can cut them in half and do all the edges so they are less visible.

as for the hair, that's an eternal debate. Human or synth, what color is  24 on this ring or that ring or the other cause they  never quite match.

If you have a friend to help you it's SUPER DUPER easy.  I don't think you will burn your hair with reasonable care.  You don't have to turn the wand to the highest heat.  I slide a comb between the shrinkie and the scalp (the way you would guard against a curling iron) to make sure I don't burn the victim (i mean extensionee).

Seriously. I think it's tedious and a little painful to install on yourself, but on another person it's totally idiotproof.
