hi everyone, can anyone tell me why a permanent hair colour hasn't taken on human hair extensions?

My client has colour 22 & 12 but when she has done her roots. she's done them too bright for the extensions, now she has ugly 2 tone hair. She tried to dye the extensions but they haven't took. why is this and what do i do? i feel like i can;t leave her with 2 tone hair.

its very hard to dye extensions, they have gone through several extreme chemical processes in the past and this makes the colour they will ( or wont ) go impossible to determine, you should dye her own hair back to match the extensions.

What brand of hair did you use?  It may be that the hair has alot of silicoln coating and that may be your problem.  We colour extensions all the time and it takes great (usually within 10 mins) however colouring them lighter isnt a good idea as it dries the extensions out too much.

i ONCE and only once put a semi permanent color on some blonde hh to tone it a bit, make it more beige- OMG

GRAY hair!!!! what a nightmare, i had to highlite it with bleach to get it out, it came out super quick but i was sweating it.

prob has something to do with silcone coating and whatever else they treat it with.

Bringing beauty, one head at a time...
