That reminds me of the time I had black hair with blonde roots-- tried to bleach out black dye, didn't budge it :-P .  Black dye is really hard to get rid of!  They should put some kind of warning on the package so impulsive teen-agers aren't so quick to use it before they know what's involved in getting rid of it -_- .
More awesome than a manatee!

Just to add, when you tried to lighten your hair, it didn't remove the black dye. So only the virgin hair shows the new color.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Well Roxanne,

My suggestion to you would be to go to a professional salon.  However, just be forewarned ... you will shell out a lot of money to correct the color and then have highlights added.  I recently had my color "fixed" and had highlights put in (only framing ones) and it cost me $150.00.

I hope everything works out for you.

Well I have dyed my hair black a couple times in the past year. My hair is a little below shoulders length and it has average thickness I guess. but anyways I tried to lighten to regular brown earlier today and didn't do crap except to my roots which it turned like orange-ish. I wanted it to go back to regular brown so I could go put some auburn and caramel highlights in it. How do I go about doing this? My roots are orange and the rest of my hair is black it's ridiculous. I want to go to a professional to get the highlights. Would they be able to do something to make my roots blend into the rest of my hair maybe? or would they be able to lighten my hair to regular brown without turning it orange?
thanks
