Hi guys

I am natural blonde with really fair skin and I would like to try a different hair colour which won't make me look so washed out all the time.

Below are some pictures of my current hair colour and skin tone:

As you can see I am deathly pale and my hair looks a bit mousy towards the roots where the sun hasn't been on it as much.

This is my hair under a different light. I prefer the brownish bits underneath to my blonder colour.

I think I would prefer to have lowlights put in my hair rather than have it completely dyed. Though saying that I don't really have any idea how all this works because I've never dyed my hair before in my life! I've always wanted darker hair but I'm not sure what colour would suit my skin tone; would chesnut be ok do you think?

you have beautiful eyes, you need something to make those pop. Hmmm... Darker would look good, but yes, you have such Light skin, but then agian I think light skin dark hair and big blue eyes looks good. LOL
Dont' do anything too dark though, if you are going to go dark, that will not be a good idea.
*shrugs*

Aww, thank you.

Ok, so from what you're saying I'm thinking that I should maybe go for a light brown? I suppose that since I'm a newbie to all this I could try a wash out colour first and then if it goes horribly wrong I can just wash it out.

Thanks for the advice.

wash out colors in darker shades from ur hair can tend not to not wash out completley i advice u to get some lowlights in light brown that would be more safe solution better than dying ur whole head

I don't know what happened with the pics, but I've reposted them now.

Ah, so I would end up having to grow the colour out if I dyed all my hair. I've heard others say that if blondes dye their hair they can never get their natural colour back and it goes mousy, is there any truth in this?

Anyway, yeah I'm think light brown lowlights is the way to go. Thanks for your input!

Hey,

I just recently made the switch from a similar natural blonde with the same skin tones and same blue eyes to a rich brown with blond highlights. It REALLY made my skin pink and fresh and my eyes POP... But I made the mistake of jumping into it without thinking about "what if i wanted to change it back"

As much as I love the color i went through color shock because it was so different from my virgin blonde hair. I am really regretting putting something so perm. So, my advice is to maybe try some rich lowlights. I think they'd look sweet on you and really freshen you up :) And if you don't like them you wont have to suffer through growing out a full head of hair!

I can imagine it must be a shock going from light to dark, so yes, going for lowlights sounds like the best idea!

Thank you for your good advice, I just have to go for it now.
