Blueorca,

The Alberto VO5 hot oil treatments are OK, but conditioners will help your hair feel more moisturized.  You said you were using a conditioner and it didn't help.  Which one were you using?  What type of hair do you have?  (thick, thin, medium).

You could also try a good leave-in conditioner, there are TONS of them out there.  Or even a lightweight silicone spray would help your hair feel less dry.  What is your haircare regimen?  Also, your shampoo may be too harsh, and you are washing too much.

**Hair type: 2a, which is wavy and fine.
**Color: Naturally dark brown, currently dyed reddish brown.
**Length: below shoulder length

I have tried a deep conditioner, but it didn't make much of a difference.  My hair's probably acting up because of the weather, but I have used a flat iron in the past.  I used to use one practically everyday, but I stopped using it because of the damage it was doing to my hair about 4 months ago.

Thanks for your help- I think I'll go out and buy it today!

Although it doesnt work for everyone(works great on my fine hair, not at all on my husbands coarser curly hair),it wont damage your hair.Have you tried a regular deep conditioner. The weather tends to take the moisture out of hair.Other factors to consider  might be chemical treatments or hot tools.those will definitely make your hair feel dry.

Lately my hair's been really really frizzy and dry and really irratating.  I was thinking about buying some VO5 Smoothing Hot Oil Treatment.  Before I do, I just wanted some background on it, since I've never used hot oil before.  Any tips or advice on it?  I was also wondering if it does any damage to the hair or scalp?
