QuoteReplyTopic: Hair WAY too dark Posted: August 31 2005 at 9:35pm
My haircolor was brassy after I lightened it with a supposedly non brassy formula. So, I waited a few months and dyed it a darker color. My natural color is a dark brown. The color on the box said "brown black" but looked to be just dark brown. I look like a goth freak. I am embarrassed to go to the salon, or anywhere. Can I fix this at home or do I have no choice but go to the salon? Can even a salon fix too dark hair?

I strongly suggest you get this fixed in the salon, don't feel embarrassed abt it, this is one of the most common at-home hair coloring mistakes. The stylists would know what do to after analyzing ur hair, but make sure it is someone u are comfortable with. In the meantime if the color is too harsh, use Head and shoulders or any dandruff shampoo since it helps strip the color.

Just for future notice, if you're trying to dye your hair darker, it might help to get a shade or two lighter than what you think you need. It'll almost always show up darker than you think it will -_- .
