I hear a lot of ya'll talking about using water to spray ya'll durags to help ya'll hair lay down. I tried that and it worked. Then the other day I saw a curly head white dude in the pool talking bout his hair got real nappy. So I got to thinking maybe the colder the water, the better it make your hair curl over. So for the past few days I been throwing my water bottle in the fridge to get it real cold, then spray my head when i'm coming out the shower. It work real good, but I want to see if it work for somebody else. It might just be me, but it also might be a good heads up for somebody else just starting out.
i dont think it matters, cuz by the time it dries. it would prolly be around body temperature newayz. water makes hair curl and frizz period for black ppl. it lays our hair down in the sense we use it becuz the water makes our hair soft and easily managable and the du rag keeps it down till it dries.
I wasn't trying to say that cold water is a different kind of water or that cold water wont heat to body temperature. The point was to see if somebody else hair had the same reaction as my hair did which was to curl up a little bit when it was sprayed with cold water. i didn't try it with warmer water than body temperature because in another thread, it was stated that hot water will dry your hair out. yeah water is water, and yeah it will heat up to body temperature. but the question was if hair reacted different to colder water than it did to warmer water. and actually a couple people at my job tried it and they said it did tend to make their hair curl a little bit. just putting that out there. i ain't trying to say that water turns into something else when it's cold.
i gotchu. i tried it once, not becuz of this thread tho. it was earlier this summer when i was workin out at school. i got sum water from the water fountain for my water bottle, and i sprayed my hair wit it n du ragged when i got in my car. looked the same to me afterwards. but w/e works for u, i suggest u keep doing it.
