QuoteReplyTopic: Sultryhair hair arrived... Posted: September 24 2005 at 1:59pm
it looks okay, there are a few greys in it though (it is supposed to be dark brown) smells nice, like she washed it, and it is still kinda damp and yes- the dreaded NITS!!! OMG! I do not know if I can actually sit there and pick these things out..I really don't know..I might want to sell it if anyone would be interested...it is on handtied wefts (there are 2 bundles..I have not undone them) and it is curly and a redish brown I will post the link to the exact pic...if there is any interest, let me know please..
here is link to exact thing I ordered (x2)in 18' lenght
ACTUALLY, I THINK THAT I WILL ONLY USE (IF I DO) sorry for caps..only i of the bunches..i just need fill in hair for thickness, and the bunches consist of 5 wefts that are 22" across 18" long..this is plenty of hair for me..so I will deff not need the second bunch...any takers??

hmmmm - so let me get this straight; you ordered from sultry hair which is an importer and still it had nits?
it looks like absolutely beautiful hair...it just seems like for that kind of money if sultryhair is going to go to the trouble to wash it, color it (i'm assuming) and resell it they would remove the nits too? how do you feel about that?

well, i feel kinda funkin GROSSED OUT, but what can you do, huh?...there aren't many (I suppose it could be worse? ) so maybe they are just what she missed? I dunno..I have never ordered my own hair before..fro m what I have read here, it is common..I dunno if it was colored or just kinda lifted a bit..it looks like brown hair that has been lightened by the sun to a really dark auburn on the ends (which is how my hair is) the curl is great and looks very similar to my own, but I had no idea that there was so much of the hair per bunch..I assume if it were straight, it would look like less, but it is quite a bit..I had to order two cause I thought I might need 1 and a half..but looks like not..that would be too much hair, I think. And, yes for both I paid 344ish...so I will only ask for exactly what she does plus shipping for the one I wont use.

gotcha shann - i guess i didn't understand how the hair was being advertised, right. i went back and looked at the website more closely and they do advertise it as unprocessed, virgin, remi hair from one donor yadda yadda. so, i guess they are saying this is the color from the donor and no color has been put on it. i guess my expectation would be nothing done to virgin hair straight ordered from india....but if you are ordering from an importer who is marking up the hair i'd want more bang for my buck. i haven't had any experience with sultry hair..i have seen it discussed on the BHM boards, though. so, thank you for posting your experience here.
from my standpoint as a consumer if the middle man doesn't take out all the painful/gross steps (ie removing nits, washing it and conditioning it) why not buy straight from india, ya know? what's the markup for? before i joined this board i had no idea how one would go about ordering hair or what is a reasonable expectation either. people here will be honest i find.
good luck with it - it really looks pretty from the pics.

thanks cross--i had no idea either (still kinda unschooled) till I came here, which was only AFTER i had placed my non-refundable order...oh well, you live and learn or live and spend all your hubbys money on bullsh*t like hair you don't really need..hee-hee..
From what I understand from BHM sultryhair.com is really hair from indianhairs.com marked up. I had asked a question about indian weaving hair in general and posted pics from sultry's website as a general reference(they had better pics to describe my desired hair) and was told about the mark up. Then I did a search and found out more people were saying the same thing.
