I used a 1 1/8 when i started and ended with a 1 1/16 (da smallest) i think, but it came out lik ah #2 from da barber for some damn reason .. neways i kept every wave dis time.. look like i just went 2 da barber shop. Question is... primary to vgiz... how do u cut da sides of yo head. I notice when i go 2 da shop 1 time.. da guy cut my sides going upwards.
I wasnt sure so i did
top- forward back- downwards- barber does it upwards sides- i cut dem forward.... i still see da waves there.. so im good but i wasnt sure.. and next time that i cut my hair.. i wanna b sure to have it right 100%. I didnt line myself up cuz i know i will push my lining back 2 far.. and minus well look like micheal jordan tryin 2 fix it.
My Dad always told me to cut my hair according to the same pattern that I use to brush it.If not, your hair will be cut uneven because your hair is layed down alread and if you cut it against the grain then it will cut the hair layed down making it uneven. Hope I made sense, but it doesn't matter since the question isn't for me lol. Chris

No, my dad does...but he's always givin' me tips kinda like "hint, cut your own hair" lol. I have a few times before.
coo man.. i just keept da same lining from da barber shop. I dont trust lining my own self up.. it looks ight though, imma need da pro to do my side burns sharp and small :/ i aint****in wid da burns.
Only thing i did dis time differnt was cut wid da grain! ;]

my mom will cut my hair on 1/8 guard wit sunbeam clippers in about a week or 2, is that right? well newayz, she i want her to cut the directions of the waves right? and does she need to start wit a bigger guard at first..lemme know peace

naw, i jus did it cuz i didnt want it really low, but i found out da only way to get it low is to cut aginast da grain. If u cut wid da grain you should get a #2 looking lenghth. If you cut agianst da grain u will get a low fade lik yo lil cuzn got lol.. and ya.. w/o waves.
yo that looks aight..i use a #1 all over my head but i only cut forward i cut the top forward the back down the sides i cut them the sameway i brush them if your barber is cutting them any other way he is cuttin it wrong but i have 2 different #1's one cuts lower. i never go backwards. i been cuttin for a while cuttin backwards is mainly for tapering,blending or low,low cuts like dafatmack's and cardinal's cutting forward only takes it down so low if you don't have some expensive clippers.
