Headbands for Men

A friend that has now moved away had a "hairstyle" for a short time where he wore his moderately long hair back in a large/wide headband (kind of like the one in the picture). His hair was long enough to be held back completely, but short enough so it "spiked" (stuck out of the band, but didn't fall back like in pic :) ). I guess now that I look at the picture of Carman, he must have worn the band almost off the back/top of his head. I have been searching all over the internet for an example picture but I cannot find one. I was hoping someone could help me find an example or if this style is called something... I don't know.

If I can clarify anything let me know, difficult to explain.

Btw, He and I are both caucasian with relatively thick dark hair.
