QuoteReplyTopic: How much is too much biotin? Posted: November 05 2005 at 1:27pm
I cut my hair from BSL to just at shoulders a month ago and loved it for about a week but now miss the length so it's back to growing the hair again. I'm starting to take a hair, skin, and nail vitamin and wanted to add some biotin to the morning as well but didn't know how much is too much? Can I over do it with my body?
The vitamin has 3,000mcg and the supplement is 1000 mcg.

I am taking biotin and from what I have read you have to
take at least 2000mcg-5000mcg to see any results as far as hair growth is
concerned. The most I have seen are capsules of 5000mcg which is what I am
currently taking. I don’t know if they sell higher doses then that but
somewhere in that range should be ok.

I have read that biotin builds essential proteins,
helping with
hair growth, in some cases it can make your hair look thicker, it also
metabolizes fat turns it into energy, and is suppose to aid in healthy
nails
and skin. personally I have been taking 5000 mcg for about a
month now and iI have seen a slight increase in hair growth so
far.
