How do you fix poofy hair? My hair is very thick and coarse
too. Will post a pic later. My hair is in a better
condition now, compared to before when I posted my other thread. =)
My hair will poof too if I don't sock curl it and immobilize it after a wash.
First I wet-comb after getting out of the shower, continue wet-combing until dry, and then sock curl. Wet combing is basically combing with a seamless comb every five minutes until your hair is dry (Rachael Stephens, Kent, Mason Pearson, Creative, or Madora brands are all seamless). This forces the hair to dry straight and flat. Then I sock curl to hold everything in place overnight, go to sleep. The next morning I put on three scrunchies spaced down the length. This holds the length straight. For the rest of the day I get sleek hair.
Sorry this was kind of longwinded but I hope you get the idea. The point is to keep the hair straight while it's drying. This is why curly haired people straightened their hair on orange juice cans in the 70's and 80's. it held the hair straight when it was drying.
