Hi Cookies.  I love curly hair.  Your natural texture is really beautiful.  I think going natural is a great choice for you.  Do you ever visit naturallycurly.com?  Hairboutique and naturallycurly are my fav boards.  Lots of practical info & support over there as well, especially if you are curly (although I have to say that it is the supportive nature of this hairboutique forum that keeps me coming back).  Anyway, even though I am relaxed, I still read up on curly hair for my niece and cousin who are young and natural (trying to keep it that way as long as possible). Good luck to you.

Your hair looks great cookie, really healthy.  I'm glad to hear that you will be wearing it curly when you get the relaxer grown out.  I used to think I had to wear tons of gel in my hair when wearing it curly but after learning so much from hair boards like this one, naturallycurly.com and nappturality.com, I can just apply minimal product and be good to go.  My hair actually feels much better without a lot of gel.  Also, I found that setting lotion is a great alternative to gel.  It keeps hair light and has hold but not crunchy.  I have tons of curly hair tips, so just ask if you ever need help.

thanx guys!! i will visit naturallycurly.com but as of
now im stuck on wearing it straightened becuz i still
have some straight hair and that does not look right
mixed with curls,, it looks like hell   ,, Pokahantas ,, I
didnt know that mineral products and seting lotion
were good for curls,, if id only known that years ago!!!
lol i wouldve have saved my allowance lol with all
that gel,, i walked around with curls as crispy as dry
ramen noodles lolol,, literally! just to keep the
definition and keep it from turning into a puff,, i really
cant wait till i can grow out all this perm,, all a curly
haired girl needs is a really really good flat iron ,, and
not a perm,, i think some ppl's hair is less fragile
against perms even curly and kinky hair but mine
just breaks and breaks from it ..

Yeah, I used to walk around with hair just like that.  I've since learned that gels can cause breakage because it dries the hair out so I don't use it near as much.  I mostly use aloe vera gel or Fantasia IC gel, both are great and not drying.  I like fluffy curls now instead of hard, crunchy ones.  It feels so much better.
