QuoteReplyTopic: Dry spell Posted: November 26 2005 at 4:51pm
Hello everyone I'm new here. I have an urgent question. MY HAIR IS DRY! I've tried everything. The hot oil treatments works for only a couple of days. too much grease or moisturizer weighs down my hair.
Now, I'm not talking about the normal dry. I'm talking about the type of dry that when I keep a scrunchie on and take it out, my ends will stay scrunched up. I can't wear my hair out because it's not shiny or bouncy. All it do is lay there flat, with one end of my hair being stiff in the air.
A little bit of hair history... I've dyed my hair numerous times in the past. I haven't done it in about 9 months. Please help!

Welcome Deeva. You may want to try doing lots of deep conditioning treatments. I use cholesterol and sit under the dryer for 15 to 20 minutes. Get a good moisturizer, something with no mineral oil or petroleum in it, they only make hair dryer. Castor oil would be good for your ends because it is a humectant and attracts moisture. Also, make sure to get regular trims to get rid of any dead or split ends.
You mentioned hot oil treatments. Some people have good results from those but depending on which oil you use it could be making your hair dryer. Melted shea butter or olive oil should be good for this.
Fill us in on your regimen so we can better help you. Like what products do you use, such as moisturizers, oils, shampoo and conditioner? Are you relaxed or natural and if you relax, how often do you re-touch? How often do you heat style?
