QuoteReplyTopic: Bonding tapes - a rewiev Posted: December 02 2005 at 3:02am
Hi girls, last thursday I installed the bonding tapes with wefts. (I
needet about five tapes)They were easy to install, they held up very
well, survived a lot of sports, sauna heat... shortly spoken, they
convinced. But: the tape is
very shiny, the top row shone through my hair. Hm. And: I didn`t got as
much volume as I wanted. Second Hm... And also with a strand by strand
install I never got the volume I needet to get a natural look, I had to
add some wefts. I`ve got very thin hair, but a lot of it. Well,
yesterday I took the tapes out. (With Amms remover it works great, but
the tapes starts feeling slimy when they get in contact with the
remover...brr...)
I had another idea: I had a lot of hair lying around bonded for
shrinkies. (With LG and covered with nail glue) in the lenght from 28"
to 22". So why not putting the strands on the tape? First I stripped
the blue side of and put the bonded strands on the tape...I was
not shure if it would works...and maybe the tapes would become to
heavy?? I tried...and it worked good for me. It is not thicker than
working with wefts. It is also feeling comfortable and it is holding up
very good. (Time will tell how long it lasts) I also solved the problem
with the top row: I put a tape underneath the weft and let the top side
free from tape. It covered the other tapes, and the top row is nearly
invisible. (My color is about 1b)
So sad that I still have no camera for taking pics (It`s the number one
on my list of wishes, I hope Santa Claus will be so nice to fulfill my
desire )
So far I can say it is the first install I am 100% lucky with - the
look is great with enough volume with only 3 1/2 tapes, the feeling
with them is veeery comfortable, this method works good for me and I
won`t have to wear a cap because it is warm under all this hair...my
ears are kept warm... It`s about 32 F here in Northern Germany...Shiver...
I think the next interesting thing is if the tapes survive the first
wash but I think I will wait until tomorrow for making shure it will
last.
