I know when this first came over to the U.S. they were not suitable for black women's hair, relaxed or natural.  I don't believe that's changed.

I've just gone in for a consultation for that actually. (my hair fall has almost stopped...I guess it was just a phase thing) I really trust the woman who I met with cuz shes done my hair a few times.

Anyway she said that its a great thing but you can't have it done if you have relaxer on your hair. And that depending on how fast your hair grows you may have to have it done in about 6-8 months to touch up the roots.

I wanted to get it done cuz I work 6 days a week and my job requires meeting with lots of clients and stuff. So at the moment my hair is just such a hassle to work with every morning. I met three girls who have had it done, both loved it and said they only needed to rough dry it in the morning or let it dry on its own. And that it also didn't frizz. But they weren't African.

My stylist says my hair would be perfect because its quite strong. I'm half Japanese and also part Middle Eastern, so my hair is curly, but its looser ringlets and it is quite strong.

The only thing that really concerns me is that most people have told me that after getting it done, you're not supposed to put clips in  your hair or tie it up for about a month-two months. Because it could leave dents in your hair. But the people I've spoken to have said its worth it!

Hopefully(depending on when I get paid! hehe) I will get it done sometime next week and post photos. I hope that helped! Let me know if you find out anything else!

I could be wrong but, a friend of mine who has this done and has naturally curly hair, told me that since her hair is a bit straight at the roots, then curly, it was more suitable for her than someone whose hair is curlier at the roots.  Also, the chemicals used in this type of relaxer are incompatible with chemicals used in other types of relaxers (which is why they can not do on someone who already has a different type of relaxer on their hair).

Okay! Thanks all! I was looking for reviews and I'm not sure if it works on A-A hair, so I'm not gonna try it! Thanks again!
