I think the hook would work better because the loop in the wire pushes out more than 5 per 100 lol. But once I figued out how to hold them in it was better : )
Know just one size. It couldnt have been any smaller than the size I have or you wouldn't get the tip thrugh. I'm glad your install went well. What did you thread them with and did you have any of the inserts slide out or slip at all.
Aimee I'm glad to here they haven't slipped on you. Lisa there isn't much difference between the pro tubes and the short to long. I have used both. Surprisingly I went in to the hair shop near where I live and they had them and in all the colors! 200 for $29.oo. I do hope they stay in because I like the idea of the cushion the silicone gives the hair so it's not up against metal.
amm IS selling both the protube and the dinkie links in both sizes.
they both work very well, i personally do not like the large dinkie link, too too big, hair slips out- it is good if u wan tto put two tips in them, i dont so i stick with what works for me, protubes or small links
I've had seen breakage of any metal if it's pressed down very hard or
pressed by rubbing the tube with the plier instrument.
My client loves the protubes. The dark brown color does not chip as
much as the black ones. The black ones, she says, the color chips
revealing a very noticable lony shiny silver protube.
I would love to find tubes with good stay put paint.
I use the eurolocs clamp to remove my protubes and haven't noticed
any damage.
I don't think AMM sells the euroloc type rings, just the protube and extendtube.
If you want the euroloc type ring, you'd have to get that from Long 2 Short.
The protubes are better I think.
Thanks for the heads up on the silicone rings. I did notice the inner silicone ring kind of squishes out when you crimp it. Also they just come in light brown, so that would never work on my dark brown hair.
Lisa did you see Amm has both the pro tubes and the euro locks ( with the wider end ) on her site for a great price. I have use the pro tubes for longer than I used the euro locks I like them.
I picked them up at a store and tried them on a friend last week. I will say this I used my wire threader and the silicone is an insert and some of the shells it popped out so I wasted about 20 of them. I learned to keep my nails on the top of the shell when threading or inserting the hair .Otherwise the little band inside came out!!!!!!.They have to be bigger because of the insert. The inside is actually very small and I had to remelt and re roll some of my tips so it would go threw. Then when I closed them sometimes the band would be pushed out a bit. This did not look nice and I re did those. I am worried that the band will slip away and they will fall out. Thats why there just in my friend the tester.lol. I wouldn't do to much with them till your sure they will stay.
I did notice that the silicone lined tubes were big, and they are only offered in one color: light brown.
Hi Sand!
I'm not sure if the 'folding' of the eurolocs or the pointy thing to reopen them causes the damage, but I do know the damage that I have seen with them is scarry!
So you have had luck with the protubes staying in the hair? I'm going to try them on more people and see how they work...
I also had some silicone lined microrings, but I think they are too big for small and fine hair. They are size L....
I know the supplier for these silicone lined microrings, and he told me, there is only one size availible , size Large... That is too big for my hair, I use only the m size micros or the pro tubes....
the main reason eurolocs break the hair is the way they are taught to install- they are folded over like a book- i did a removal on someone the other day- i had never seem how they were installed, way different then hairlocs, and way different then the way i install, yes lisa- the portubes are very flat- i dont crimp i just close the top and bottom, they lay nice and flat and have very little damage potential then when i remove, i use a rounder that works amazingly great- no prongs to split the hair.
I ordered some of the silicone lined microrings from Hair-Development in the UK. I am in California, and it took 14 days to receive my order, which I thought was pretty good.
I'm going to install these on a client tomorrow. I was playing around with them today and I think they do look promising. I like the thought of microring extensions, but so far I have found that Eurolocs cause breakage and the dr.locks and extentubes slip out of the hair.
I do have a client currently wearing a full head of the protubes, but I haven't heard back from her so I don't know how she's doing with them. The protubes seem very cool because they so crimp down nice and flat.
