Doc Locks micro rings felt like beads all over my head! Plus, the blonde
color didn't match my hair color, so they showed up a lot too. And this
may be because my husband was crimping the microrings with pliers and
didn't realize his strength, but we've noticed that my own hair, where the
microrings were, is now crunched, bent, frayed, what have you. (i've
never tried microlinks, protubes, extentubes, all the other types of rings...
doc's was my only experience)

I'm slowing replacing the rings with Amm's clear shrinkies, which are nice
and slim. Compared to the microrings, shrinkies feel like nuthin'. Very
pleased with shrinkies!

So what technique requires no attachment?  I don't believe it, hair extensions do not just mysteriously float around your head!

I smell an advertising endorsement....

Even my clip ins  require attachment, via clips!

I feel that a technique that requires no attachments to wear extensions are your best answer for less bulk. let me know if you are interested. i can suggest a great company.

I agree the shells (any type) are the smallest But I prefer the shrinkies an far as least damaging.

What type of install is the least bulky at the install site?  I was reading in the archives and someone was sayoing that shrinkies are kinda bulky feeling?  I was playing with different types, and the shrinkies seem definitely more bulky than fusion!  Ive ordered Lush hair and this will be my very first time wearing extensions - I really dont want them to feel huge!
