Hello!

I just discovered/joined this site, although i've been lurking about, reading all the juicy posts!  I have a few questions...I've read a lot lately about air-drying vs. heat , I personally use the bio-ionic blowdryer and flat iron 1X per week, but I wonder if airdrying is better...  Does anyone air dry with good results?  If so, how do you keep your ends smooth?  By the way, I'm sitting here doing an air-dry test run right now...My other question is about pre shampoo treatments and conditioner washes...any suggestions?

thanks for your advice...

i would reccommend air-drying most definitely but the bio-ionic blowdryer is much better than a regular one as long as you use it on low heat. I would also reccommend using the flat-iron once every 2 weeks at a bare minimum- try rollersets, twists oust and braidouts.

As far as pre-shampoo treatments- i'm natural- but i still reccommend castor oil or jamaica black castor oil- i apply this to dry  hair (concentrating on the ends) and then apply a thin, plastic cap to my head and go to sleep. If this is not feasible for you then an option is a pplying it to dry hair, putting the thin plastic cap on and sitting under a hooded/bonnet dryer for 15 mins prior to shampooing.

hope this helps.

Thanks carameldiva...

Another question...Since I SUCK BIG TIME when it comes to rollersetting, can you give me ideas on how to do braidouts/twistouts?  I'm ashamed to say I have no idea what those are.

By the way, my air-dry test run failed miserably...When I woke up this morning, it was still very very damp and I had 1 hour to get ready to leave the house, so I reverted back to my old standbys: blowdryer and flatiron...How long does it usually take to completely airdry...less than 2 weeks?
