I'm coming out of my braids, and it's been over 2 years since I've relaxed my hair....yeah, crazy un-relaxed new growth! Does anyone have any suggestions about getting it straight the first time I relax, instead of re-relaxing in a couple of weeks?

Lolly

Make sure you keep track of how long he relaxer is in for best results and keep hair in straight form when rinsing & shampooing the relaxer out.

It is definitly in the pressing while the chemical sits in the hair. Really pull out the curl and press the hair as flat as possible with the back of a cutting comb. Work through the hair in thourough sections. Having a friend help is definitly easier for a better press then what you can reach on your own. Use extra strength and be sure not to over process on the time as mentioned above. A perfect relaxer loosens about 75-80% of curl. Over relaxing will leave the hair completley limp and damaged looking. You want to retain the natural body of your hair but maintain control of it.

Basically it is good finger technique in application!
