hello everybody.
im glad i found this forum to chat about beauty topics.
the things id like to improve about myself are my hair and my eyebrows.
until i was 14 years old i had long dark brown hair that went all the way down to my hips. i then decided to get another hairstyle because i was bored. i let it cut to shoulder length. but i did not like it and so i went to the hairdresser again and got it cut really short, it was about 3cm short. for years now i try and let my hair grow again. but the longest i ever managed is like it is now, just over my shoulders. i have got stupid layers in my hair which really annoye me too. does anybody know how i can make my hair grow long quicker? it seems to take forever. and getting it trimmed every 6 weeks to make it grow quicker is nonsense.
another thing that i dont like are my eyebrows. I absolutely hate the things. i used to have short square bars over my eyes and i was fed up with it. i wanted to have nicely shaped eyebrows so i plucked them but it didnt help. so i shaved them off and used and eyebrow pencil to draw them on. that was no good idea either. now i try and let them grow but they wont grow and it looks just ridiculous.any idea on what to do?
Yes, in fact, NOT getting it trimmed will help it grow faster!
Trims are important to remove any splits because they will damage your
hair by splitting up the shaft of the hair in the long run, but most
people don't have to trim those off very often (providing they aren't
damaging their hair with heat or chemicals), nor is it usually
necessary to trim off as much as salons usually do. Hair grows an
average of a half inch (little over a cm.) in a month, so you can
calculate how much you can have trimmed and how frequently to still get
some growth. As for things you can do to make it grow faster, go
to "forum Jump" down below and jump over to the Long Hair Support
forum. This question is on there a number of times with plenty of
different answers.
Eyebrows should grow back in about 3 weeks if you leave them alone. They have a pretty fast fallout/replacement cycle.

Well, you can certainly pluck them the way you want yourself, it just
may take practice. Mine are kind of straightish too and I pluck
them into more of an arch shape. I usually overdid it when I
first started, but after awhile you will get used to looking at them
that way and it will be easier to know which hairs have to go. It
will depend on your features exactly how they will look best (how thin
or thick, rounded or straight with an arch). Tou can always ask
the beautician for advice on what shape will look best on you if you're
not sure for that first time. Good luck!

The eyebrows are a fairly easy solve. #1. Do not pluck/wax/tweeze or touch for the next couple of months. It will be hard to keep your hands off of them, but they WILL grow back. And they will have no shape! Lol. I know this from experience. I had over-tweezed since high school and had actual scar tissue build-up. During this pregnancy I left my eyebrows completley alone, and within a few months they had filled in. I didn't think they would. Draw them in while they are growing in with the same method I am going to give you to shape them after they do...
Once you reach the point that they have grown in, the next step is to shape them.
I teach Look Good Feel Better classes at hospitals in Oregon. We teach women going through chemo and cancer treatment ways to draw and fill their brows in as they lose them. There is a very mathmatical way to shape your brows correctly to your face.
Step 1. Take a brow pencil and lay it vertically against the edge of your nose. Make a small mark where it meets the browline. This is the point where a natural brow should start on your face.
Step 2. Take the brow pencil and (looking directly forward) lay it vertically with the eoutside edge of your iris. Make a small mark at the brow. This will be the point of your natural arch.
Step 3. Take the brow pencil and lay it diagnolly from the edge of your nose to the outer corner of your eye. Make a small mark. This is where the tail of your brow should end (suprisingly most people's are way too long or way too short! Lol.)
Play dot to dot with these 3 points and fill in to your desired thickness. After the brows are drawn on well, tweeze everything around them that the pencil has not touched. This will give you a perfect brow shape. Maintain it by visiting a salon for monthly wax clean-ups.
Good Luck!

This is what I was told, and have done for years. When they do grow back in, and have been shaped. Do this when needing a triming. Take and comb them straight up. Now cut off to the height of the brow. Or comb them straight down. Cut them where the width ends. They have to blend in with the others. Do it all the time. Sure hope you can understand. It's simple. I never have many to pluck. Maybe a couple.
