QuoteReplyTopic: Bangs for a low/short forehead Posted: January 11 2006 at 12:58pm
Time for a new haircut. :P
Here's my dilemma: I have short forehead with a square hairline!
I look ridiculous with it pulled back since symmetrical hair just
weirdens my face, but a lot of bangs make your forehead wider. I just
have no idea what bangs would suit. :/ Am I really destined for vaguely
ugly, boring hair for the rest of my life?
Erm... what else... my face is widest at the cheeks/ears (cheekbones),
with a normal sized chin and a long nose. My hair is currently just
past the shoulders, with slightly shorter layers and side bangs (god, I
hate them: impossible to style, high maintenance) that have grown out,
with the shortest just above my chin. It looks ok sometimes but is
mostly just annoying.
What kind of bangs would suit someone with my head shape? Sorry for the lack of pictures.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't know if those would work on me
in reality. Those models look to have average foreheads rather than low
ones. I don't like the piecey/blocky combo on the first one, and for
the second one... on me, getting bangs that far above the eyebrows
would mean that they'd be literally a couple of centimeters long. Eeep.
The little tufts would probably flip up and look even sillier.
I'd discuss this in depth at the salon, but the only one I can afford
has hair stylists that don't seem to have much time for long
discussions... they basically prefer taking a quick glance at the photo
you show them and take out the scissors while you 're voicing concerns.
:/
Short bangs on a short forehead will make you look as though you have no forehead at all. My sis in law has a short forehead and reciently got long sweeping one that come from one side and sweep over her eye. They look very nice.

I have a low hairline too and only once someone tried to give me bangs
and they were long and thick ones. I hated my look and tried to grow
them back for years. I say think some more before having the cut.

I have a VERY short forehead, but i risked it and got just normal bangs...everyone says i look much better with them
That's how I have my hair now, at one point i had side bangs, and before that I had no bangs at all. Im sure bangs would suit you perfectly well...just make sure that you're certain you want them before you get them cut :P
Cutting bangs further back so you have a thick fringe is going to be
the only way to make your forehead look higher. Just make sure to
think long on it first like said above to decide if that's a style you
really want, and be careful you don't overdo it because as you know
growing out part of them is a pain if you don't like it.
