Hey I have kind of wavy hair when I blow dry it, but I was wondering if you guys had any ideas on getting it curly with like gel or something.  HELP!!  I really want it curly.

When your hair is damp after washing, put some gel into your hair, and then scrunch it. Scrunching it is grabbing a section of hair and then pushing the ends to the top of your head. You might need to tilt your hair to the side to scrunch it easier.

If it's wavy after you blow it dry then you might have curlier hair than you see. Try letting your hair air dry and see if you have curls or more waves.

You could try taking wet or damp hair and making lots of little buns all over. Then let those completely dry before you take them down. The more buns you make the tighter the waves or curls will be. So if you want curls make lots of small ones.

You could do roller sets with rollers of your choice. Some are hot rollers, others are steam rollers (Caruso type), and others are plastic rollers that you use with wet hair and then either let the hair dry or you can sit under a hood dryer or use a blow dryer. Just be sure to keep the blow dryer moving so you don't burn the hair or your scalp.

You can also try rag curls, rope curls, sponge curls, soup can curls. These types of things involve using everyday objects as rollers. I haven't done any of these so hopefully there's another thread on these or someone can chime in with their experiences.

As far as products some people use mousse, others use gel, others use aloe gel, and some could be using setting lotion like we had in cosmetology school. You might be able to find that in a beauty supply store.

Basically when it comes to curls it's about wrapping or bending the hair around objects or in the case of buns you are twisting the hair and wrapping it around itself. The size of the object you wrap the hair around determines the size of the curl or wave. Smaller object means tighter curls while larger means looser.

I hope that helps.

I use gel with a diffuser to turn my loose waves and curls into tighter wild ones. I love it.

DANGER! I drive like you do.

I don't comb my hair after I wash it.  I wrap it in a towel then put gel on it and then scrunch it with a diffuser, that works pretty well for me.  If I comb it it seems to comb the curl out, I have pretty fine hair.
