hair dye problem

ok this is the first time I have written on one of these things so sorry if this problem has already come up. Anyways I had a hair dying disaster 2 days ago. I have been dying my hair very light blonde for years and I was so sick of it that I decided to go to medium/dark brown (with permanent haircolor). I did it myself at home and the color turned out ok. I liked it, but I missed a few spots on both sides of my head, so there were some lighter spots and it really bothered me. I was so mad at myself that I had done that! So then I did the dumbest thing you could possibly do. I went to the store and bought that exact same color and just put some on the spots. Well now there is a huge dark splotch on one side and the other side is just darker altogether. Yes, I know it was really dumb! Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done for me? Should I go to a professional to get it fixed? or should I go get a semi-permanent color to cover it up or would that just make it worse? I feel so ugly and depressed now. I really understand how some of you feel on this site about not feeling good about yourself when your hair looks bad. Please help!

Give it a couple of days.....like Susan said it may fade just right. I ended up with extrememly dark hair when I tried lowlights to get my platinum hair a 'tad' darker. I ended up buying a OTC bleach a leaving it in for a few minutes.....I got to almost platinum again so I wouldn't suggest that since you like your color. I'd also suggest you post this in the Hair Color forum. There are some gurus that never venture out that might be able to help. Colorfix will probably be a suggestion.
