I am pleased to have found this site. I do not know much about hair at all ,which is why I am here .. to read and learn.

My hair is fine and curly/wavy. It drops a little below the shoulder. I went to a hair salon to get some highlights done and since then my hair started to get thinner so I started using Nioxin products.. cleanser.. conditioner...serum. I also have Biolage conditioner. It has been a year since, the thinning has decreased but when I comb my hair 5 or 6 strands still come off.

I have some questions about intense conditioner for my type of hair and about thermal reconditioning which I will post later.

   Thanks!

Hi!  5 or 6 strands is not much.  It is normal to lose up to 100 a day (I'd say my hair is closer to the full 100, I lose handfuls and have for many years).  I wouldn't worry about it.

I lose lots of strands, but the thickness of my hair doesn't seem to decrease and also I always notice new hairs growing (they're most noticeable around the hairline and parting) so I don't worry.  The only causes for concern are if your hair seems to be getting thinner overall or if the strands coming out are actually breaking off rather than falling out.

It sounds like you take good care of your hair, and, if it looks nice, I wouldn't fret.
