I am trying to find the best flat iron to use on my hair.  Which is better, a CHI or coroloiss?  Do you have any other suggestions?  I have never owned one before.

Hi I use GHD straightners, I m sure you will find them in the US. They are about £100 pounds here, I dont know what that is in doller's, but they are not cheap, but I think they are the best ones yet. I uses them a lot on clients hair, they are so amazed how straight their hair is that they buy them.

Hope this helps karen

ive heard chi is good and sedu i got a solia and it's good.  i dont know about chi because it has no temp control and could burn hair.  remember to use heat protectant.  Make sure your iron does not pull on hair too.  the Solia and chi and sedu does not.  go to folica.com and look at the reviews.

Thank you so much for that advice.  I have actually looked up a few reviews but I did not see anything about if an iron would pull on your hair.  Is that typical of the cheaper flat irons?

Personally I like Remington Ceramics, which aren't expensive at all and are widely available in stores and online.

Ceramic plates that are cleaned regularly and used in conjunction with a heat protective products shouldn't pull on your hair.  The trick is to keep them moving, never leave them static on any strand.

Good luck - hope you find what you want.

Yes some of them are not very smooth and you can hear your hair breaking. I haven't experienced it with the SOLIA.  i bought Redken heat Glide, it's supposed to protect your hair.  Also I heard the Maxi Glide pulls your hair

My friend has a CHI and she uses it on my hair and I love what it does to my hair so I think the CHI is pretty awesome! But I think whatever is ceramic will do well.
