Is there a way to change your hair texture. Like from straight to curly?

yeah, like if you get a curly perm but those are really damaging. you can also use a curling iron...

when i was younger, my hair was like cottony puffs and when my mom would wash it, it would curl up. But now I have a perm and I want my old curly look back.

thats a good question, but i think the only way 2 see a significant change would be 2 change your genetics!!! which is impossible (or not, u never know these days!) some products will change the texture temporarily, but i dunno about forever.

The only thing I can suggest to get back to your old hair is to start over. Your relaxed hair will never be like your old hair. A lot of people are transitioning these day and getting rid of the relaxed hair to go back to their natural hair. I've done it 3 times. Well, I'm too impatient to transition. I just did a BC.
Hair type: who knows?
Length: 23 inches as of 3/10/06
MY HAIR IS OFFICIALLY BRA STRAP LENGTH!!
Goal: Waist Length, which is only 30 inches so
ADVISE ME ON HOW TO GET JUST 7 MORE INCHES OF GROWTH!

If you want your curly hair back from when you were younger, you will have to transition. It sounds as if you wore your natural texture back then but now you have relaxed hair.

You can also do a straw set/perm rods and then  after the set dries you can seperate the curls...make it look more like natural hair.

I really don't want to cut off my hair. I got a large cut back in August and I don't/didn't like the length. Well I guess the only I could get it curly again would be to cut it off. But I'm too impatient and I've noticed my hair has been somewhat of a "trademark". Most people know me and acknowledge me for it. So I want to keep it. LOL!!! I guess I could get a tight rollerset withh smaller rollers. You think that'll work?

really? I've been afraid to get one becuz it seems harsh. I guess I could though. Is there a way it could be done at home?

You mean a curly perm?  If so, yes and no.  I forget which way it is, but I think you can't perm a relaxer or is it the other way around?

I think a tight rollerset should work fine.

My relaxed ends went back to it's curly state, but I'm guessing because it was underprocessed. When I wet my hair its really curly.

jaz: if u are referring to getting a sewn in weave like i suggested, than i would recommend getting it done by a professional. just find a beauty store that has a reasonable price. and of course, get what ever type of hair, straight or curly, from a hair or beauty supply store
