    Posted: March 15 2006 at 7:01pm

I just happened to stumble across this chart on one of the boards. I thought i would share it to give everyone an idea of the many different types of spilts. Not all spilts will look exactly like the pictures, but it helps to know what they can look like.

( I found this at the site our hair journrys)

Ugh...I've seen them all.  I see the crinkles a lot more right after a wash because I do roller sets and my hair stays curly for several days until I press it out, which only flattens it, not really straightens it.  After about a week and a half, when I dare to use the flat iron again with Biosilk Heat Therapy, my hair is silky and flowing, but of course now it smells and needs to be washed again.  Just my luck.

I've seen this chart and it was interesting.  I think I've had every split end on there.  The "tree" scares me.

I too have had every split ends on that chart.  I still have some but not as bad as I did before.  Man I was pissed off.  But then again some of it was my fault.

I only get the tapered ones. I see those the most often. The next is the knot. I see knots about once every 6 or 7 months or so. I've never seen the others before. They look creepy. Makes me itch.

Ohh my the tree and even the feather are very distrubing to me...I hope I never see those...But that is interesting seeing a chart drawing of the many different split ends though.

Heat damage and/or chemical damage.  Basically your hair has holes in it.
