Is he stupid or what? I always thought this Doug character has an IQ problem... But I really like the pic. Pls tell me she didn't cut her hair for real - I just got a helluva liver ache!

She's been acting on TV since she was 18, about 17 years ago. Since then,
her hair has been exactly the same. Heaven forbid she should once want
different hair.

Bob, a quick story: this weekend I watched an old ABC Family movie
called "Celeste in the City," about a college grad from Maine who
moves to Manhattan to start a job at a newspaper. She's all frumpy
when she gets there, and her long-lost cousin Dana (who has come
out of the closet) and his fashionista friends "transform" her with a
makeover into a hot, sophisticated Manhattanite.

One of the requisite parts of the makeover, of course, is that they
take her full, curly, beautiful hair and straighten it to within an inch of
its life, and plaster it flat to her head. Because, you know, curly hair
couldn't possibly be sexy, could it? I mean, no one who'd want to
look sophisticated, grown up, attractive, alluring would possibly want
anything but stick-straight, right? That's what all guys really want,
right? Even though the sole female in the makeover group herself
has trendy bangs, volume and soft curls for her own straight hair.

My point? Those of us who prefer one look above all others are
always getting frustrated by the decisions of the women who actually
live with the hair, or by society's supposed standards, just as I was
watching this movie. And if I've gotta live with stick-straight as the
gold standard, you'll have to live with an occasional chop.

And, as many posters have said many times, it's her hair, she's the
one who lives with it, and maybe after having long hair her whole life
she's just ready for a change. If she hates it, as many have before
her, it'll be long again soon enough.

I'm still a bit dubious she really cuts it, because there are pictures of
her on Getty Images with her normal length from early February. I
don't know how far ahead they shoot episodes. But then again, I
suppose she couldn't cut it in one episode and then not keep it short
in subsequent episodes.

So I guess my only question is, will it be short and straight, or short
and curly? :-)

in my opinion she doesn't look hot anymore. it makes her face fat in some kind of way.

I guess the question is whether or not the character, as opposed to the actress, cut her hair or is just pulling one over on her husband.

My bet is they'll just have her normal hair back next week and say it's a wig.

At least Seinfeld had Elaine's hair short for 3 weeks when they had her cut it.

so in 3 weeks, when they air a new episode, the hair will be forgotten (well, not here, but everywhere else)

Curlyfan, I was guessing how old Leah might be based upon her role, and the fact that make-up artfully applied can shed a few years. When I see a woman as lovely as Leah was before this episode, the age is irrelevant.

Anyway, now she looks like a woman with a pretty face with a distractingly bad haircut. Her agent must have turned white when he/she saw the "mommy-cut" result.

And, CF, I happen to like natural curly hair. Some of the best looking heads of hair I see are long and kinky.

As for dramatic cutting, about 90% of the time I prefer the old longer hair to the transformation. When a woman in the public eye does it, it's impossible for me to comprehend. But it's not cataclysmic for me! (lol) There is a little exageration flowing from my pen at times, y'know!

The only thing that ever really angers me is when women receive pressure to cut. Best, Bob
