Hello ladies
I need some help in helping a friend. Her hair is at the length where her ends are rubbing against her coat collar, and it is very frustrating.
What styles do you suggest that she wear until her hair gets longer and she don't have to worry so much about it?

Wow!  My hair is EXACTLY like that now because I'm growing a "rat tail" thing sorta!  I just clip it up with a fish clip before I leave home, or slap a mini ouchless hair tye on it(ponytail).  My ponytail is about 2 inches long, but it's GROWING faster than the rest of my hair.  It actually looks good because the front has a little volume.  But just make sure you tell her to not ALWAYS KEEP IT TYED UP.. because that could be damaging..let it be free at times! .. Well...I recommend doing a fake hair cut or bob.  I did this back in the day.  Pin up the hair closes to the collar, underneath.  Take the hair on the top and style it...u can roll it under or flip it, bump it or whatever. It's an illusion, but if you do it right it could look like a fresh and beautiful hair cut.

Also, she can do some updos.... small styrofoam or sponge ( from sallys) to make a french roll  look fuller. YOu place it where you want your french roll then you brush and pin your hair over it.

I am in the same boat as your friend.  My hair grows to my collar then breaks.  I have been experimenting for the last few months, and here's what has worked for me:

I alternate between Phony ponys, Banana clip, 1/2 wigs, scarf bun (thats when I take a long silk scarf, tie it around my ponytail, then twist it and coil it around and around until it makes a bun/rose looking thing)

I actually saw some growth since Dec using these methods, but then I went to a scissor-happy new stylist...oh, you know the rest
