i just got my hair cut short again (i've been growing it out but i neded a change and the split ends were drvng me crazy ) but i'm really happy with my new cut.  the only problem is that my hair is pretty wavy so now that it's short it just won't lie flat.  it just puffs right up once it's dry.  is there a good way to mae it smooth and flat?  i've been thinng that garnier smoothing milk should do the job... so what's the word on it?  or can you recommend any other products or techniques?  thanks

(sorry about my spelling... my keyboard's broken )

More conditioner (really). If you add a second conditioner to your routine, a cheap one like Suave or V05, it could be enough to weigh the hair down.

Otherwise, as your hair gets longer it will weigh itself down also.

Hope this helps

Woah, I have the exact same problem;  I'm planning my hair long for the first time (like below the shoulders long) and right now my hair is just about completely covering my ears.  I just used a bucket load of suave conditioner today and I think it might actually be keeping my hair flat for once!   I merely added it on with my regular conditioner at the same time and it seems to be doing the job.
Thanks for the tip!

i've been using more conditioner as well and it seems to be helping... thanks for the tip!   i was just at the store the other day and i found the perfect product for me- Pantene Moisturizing Comb-In Treatment.  it made my hair really smooth and shiny and it didn't feel like i was wearing product at all... (ugh i sound like a commercial )  but if you're having the same problem as me i'd definitely try it out
