Hi.  Im new here and would love some advice if possible.  Ive experimented with different types of extensions but today i tried individuals with the keritan (spelling?) sticks and it is soooo sticky, i dont think i am doing it right.  I tried cutting a small piece of hair off the track and applying a small amount of glue then rolling the hair.  It dried super fast and really clumpy.  Then when i attached it to the natural hair shaft with the flat iron (i tried setting 1, 7, and 15) it either doesnt melt enough or when it does and i open the iron the glue is stuck to the iron, really sticky and stringy.

I thought about using the LG but ive used it before for applying the tracks and it is so messy that i really didnt want to go that route.  Any advice would be great.

Try Pro-tacs. They are the best in my eyes

Im not sure of the brand name of the sticks.  The store that i bought them from sold them as singles, not in a pack.  I didnt think to ask for the brand name.  She just said they were the keritan type.

Naked eye:  Are the pro-tacs available in stores or is it something you must purchase online?  Am i doing something wrong, is that why the glue is sticky, or is it probably the quality of the glue?  I like the ones that are preglued but they are much more expensive, plus i dont have use of a wand right now.

Vykky, I've bought glue sticks from a number of different stores, each time they were being sold individually, and each time they turned out to be Torain brand which is wax based, not keratin.  They break down quickly making your extensions fall out, and  it's extremely difficult to get out of your hair.  Imagine melting a candle on your head!   The stores were very secretive about the brand name, and they even said it was "keratin", but I eventually squeezed the name out of them.  Just because they sell the stuff doesn't mean they know anything about it!

But as far as fusion in general, what you are describing is normal.  That's just the nature of the beast!  There's no getting around it!  You just have to learn how to work with it.   I did fusion for over a year, but have since switched to wefts.  You mentioned not having a wand; I still have all of my fusion supplies (fusion wand, 2 different brands of keratin glue sticks, hot pot, glue gun). If you want them PM me!
