i have waist length hair, im getting it trimmed 3inch and layered.
does this make sense? i want lots of layers all over, i like the longest length 3inch above what it is now. id like most of my hair to be around bra strap length so when it falls forward thats how long it is HOWEVER i want the longest hairs to stay behind. understand?

what do u think of this, will it look good? im going on sunday so let me know soon ok please

Harvy, something I don`t understand: You asked this same question in several different forums last spring. I quote your exact post on May 23:

**********
I got my waist length hair cut just below by bra strap and layered. The layers are starting just below my shoulders and i have about 2 layers done.

When i came home, i relaised the lady cut it slanted! Horrified, i went back and she did it right and evened it. I love it!

Thanks for all the help, also im surprised that it doesnt appear finer, just as thick as before. It is not at all fine from the ends even.

I suggest if u want to keep length but want a different style when leaving hair out without doing anythjing to it, get it layered BUT BUT BUT make sure u know how much is being cut off. Mine was cut more than i asked, but i still love it, but BE CAREFUL bring a picture.
*********
You`ve already been through this--literally dozens of people chimed in on multiple boards to offer advice. So why now, almost five months later are you asking the same question after you already got this exact cut? Please don`t think I am accusing; I`m just curious.

yes ur right i did get it cut in may, but now its grown quite a bit since then and i want it layered again. however, i want the length from the back but want it to not just be face framing layers which was i more or less had in may but more layers and id like most of the layers to fall a few inchs below my shoulder, however in the back i want it to be longer. the problem is i dont know if that will look weird, having the majority of my hair at a few inch below my shoulder and the back length a few inch`s longer, i dont want to get the pyramid look.
so basically i still want layers again but something more different.
see with these layers i discovered that when my hair was left out and i moved about the long hair would cover the short face framing layers so it was kind of pointless to a certain extent.
i dont know if this makes any sense, if u know what i mean, if u do pls help and also pls try and condense what i said so i can explain it to the hairdresser better.
thanks

Did you like the stylist who did your original cut? If so, talk to him/her in very specific terms (as you did here) and make sure they understand exactly what you want. Seriously stylists hear the strangest things on a daily basis so they should be able to understand. Bring in a picture if you have one, and demonstrate with your hands what you want your hair to look like. Hope this helps....good luck!
