QuoteReplyTopic: SHE CUT MY HAIR OFF!! Posted: April 23 2006 at 1:21pm
Ok, yesterday I went in to Fantastic Sam's, thinking I was going to go about 2-3 inches shorter (or whatever that would be, I wanted it just below my shoulders) ..Well, guess what. The lady completely chopped my hair off.
Here was my hair a couple weeks ago; it was brown, but that's just so you get an idea of the length it was yesterday (before the cut) *Picture*
I picked out a picture in a book while I was there but told her "I don't want it this short, I want it at least to my shoulders!" ..My hair is about an inch maybe 1½ above my shoulders. It looks absolutely horrible. While she started cutting, I about cried, then felt like I was going to pass out. My sister was getting her's cut too, and she started laughing, but I think it was just in disbelief. Then afterword, the lady said "Well, if it makes you feel any better, it needed to be cut, it was way over processed."
I know this might sound stupid, but I'd rather have dry, over processed hair than look stupid with all my hair chopped off. She was also suppose to do layers and once she was just finished cutting it completely around, I told her to stop.
Honest to god, so far, everytime I look in the mirror I cry or about break down. I know this sounds stupid, but I look awful. I can hardly even put it in a ponytail without some of it falling out. The only way it will stay up is if it has mousse and it's completely dry. ..I'm so pissed. I guess there isn't something that will make my hair grow faster I suppose? Anyone know how long hair takes to grow?
*I also posted this in the Bloopers section, just to get other peoples advice/comments/suggestions, I know some people only read and kinda stay in one little area. Sorry if this bothered anyone.

Aww... I'm sad to hear what happened to you. The result was
mostly her ignoring what you wanted, and failing to confirm what you
wanted. Clear communication with stylists is essential -- they're
wielding the scissors, after all. I hope your hair grows out
quickly, and that your next salon visit is much more positive.

Maybe next time you go in to a new salon or stylist, make them repeat back to you what you want. This will ensure that they understand. Even make them show you the length that you want with their hands to see if they understand that you want. Then if not right you can correct before they damage your hair. At 1/2 inch growth per month it's worth it!
To get hair to grow faster there are natural products available. The best way to get hair to grow faster is by eating plenty of fruits and vegetables, it really works.
