Hi everyone. I'm just about ready to try doing my own extensions with micro rings/linkies. Which ones do you all find to slip the least? I know there has to be enough hair in them, and clamped shut tightly to help prevent slippage. But I was wondering if there is one type?brand in particular that you prefer. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

the silicone lined microrings are the latest new ring product. They have a silicone lining inside the ring that helps protect the hair against damage and seems to help for those who are prone to slipping.

I use dr. locks, I haven't had any real problems with them. I am sure they
are not the best, but they suit me well. The only problem is if you are
trying to open them, they fold over, they don't go back to a circle. But this
is why I like using them, I just apply my fusion wand to it for a few
seconds and it will slide right out! Removing is so easy this way! And no
damage so far!

The silicone lined microrings are amazing.  I wore them my last install and lost one in the entire 3 months and they didn't slip at all.  I was even able to use conditioner on the top of my head. :) The take down was easy and they didn't fold over.

With the extentubes I had with the previous install I lost at least 5 everytime I washed my hair, but I have slippery fine curly hair. They also were a pain to take out.

Wearing 22" 8oz Tease I tips installed with silicone microrings.

Naked Eye have you tried the pliers with the notch? These help to reopen the rings so they dont fold over.

the dr.locks slid on my hair, i'd say a good 1/3 - 1/2 of the rings slipped.  this was even after gong through and donig a final clamp once i was done.  they folded like mad with me to.

naked eye: what the blazes do you do with a wand and microrings to get them out?  i just can't imagine.
what I'm wearing: 1 pkg 18" DLux SS #2 and protac

misslou, you just hit the microrings with the hot wand and the rings soften and come right out......right naked eye?  PS: this is a great tip, that I didn't know about until Naked Eye mentioned it!

Yeah sherrie, I have that. It still folds them over. I don't know why, I think
it's a thing because it's hard for me to see on myself!

Lou- I just take the heat wand and close it around the microlink for a few
seconds, and shimmy it down my hair, no damage, no pulling, no
problem.

Naked eye, are you saying that the heat expands the metal of the ring a bit which makes them slide out?

Magin - I guess so! I think that's the case for some reason, because the
only time I've noticed that I lose strands is if my flat iron is really hot, and
I go over the links and pull or comb harshly the length of the hair. Not
sure why.
